Verizon LG V30 receiving Android 9.0 Pie update

Finally, the LG V30 on Verizon Wireless is getting the Android 9.0 Pie Update.

Two days ago, LG posted the kernel source code for Android 9 Pie firmware for Verizon LG V30, and today, A LG V30 Users on Reddit claimed that he is getting the Update.

A  screenshot shared by one of LG V30 owners also confirmed that the Android Pie Update is now available via OTA for Verizon LG V30 ThinQ.

This software update upgrades your  phone to Android 9.0 Pie and includes the following enhancements:

• Home touch buttons with gesture:
 Swipe up on the Home button to switch to Overview or App drawer. Swipe right to move to the most recently used app.

• Use the Volume keys for media:
Changes what the Volume keys adjust by default from ringtone volume to media volume.

• Lockdown option:
Puts the phone into the state where biometrics cannot be used.all lock screen notifications are hidden, and Smart Lock turns off.

• Screenshot thumbnail:
When a screenshot is taken, its preview is displayed in the bottom right side of the screen in a thumbnail.

Verizon is the first carrier in the US that offers LG V30 users the Android 9.0 Pie update.

It is really a big surprise that Verizon LG V30 users received the Android Pie Update only two days after LG posted the kernel source code.

LG also already posted the Kernel source for the Android Pie firmware for the LG V30 on AT&T and T-mobile.

Maybe we can see the Pie Update soon on AT&T LG V30 or T-mobile LG V30 smartphone?

For your information, The Android Pie Update for Verizon LG V30 Should be available through LG Bridge several days later.

LG will release the stock kdz firmware for the Verizon LG V30 ThinQ too.
