Verizon LG G3 VS985 Software Update: VS98512B

Verizon wireless is now rolling out an over-the-air (OTA) update to its LG G3 VS985 models.

The Update brings the G3’s software version up to VS98512B. It is not the Android 5.0 L Update.

The VS98512B Software Update brings support for Advanced Calling 1.0, as well as the latest version of all of LG’s stock apps, including: Contacts, Email, Camera and BackUp.

The update do not include the security patches that block the root access.

“I’ve actually just accepted the update and I still have root.”, According to david_hume at xda forum.

LG apps updated
The following issue has been addressed:

Device syncs email message when user switches folders, device keeps showing “Updating……”

  1. will a factory reset “delete” the 12b update and what are the chances that the G3 i got week ago has 10b on it to begin with?

  2. Actually, it DOES block rooting IF you are not rooted already. You have to go back to 10b in order to root. If you take the update BEFORE you root, then you will not be able to root. 10b for the VS985 is the last version that allows rooting.
