LG will release the Stable Version of the Android Pie update for the LG G7 ThinQ in Q1 2019, According to LG official.

In November, LG officially launched the Android 9 beta Program for the G7 thinQ in South Korea. It seems that LG is still testing the beta firmware and collecting ideas and opinions from G7 thinQ Beta PIE users.

LG official today announced its Software Update plan for the G6, G7, and V40.  The LG G7 ThinQ is scheduled to receive the stable Android Pie update in Q1 2019.

[Planned to be reflected in the first quarter of 19]

G6 Performance Update

– Improve voice call quality

– Improved Talkback voice prompts to improve accessibility

– Improvement of the phenomenon that the fingerprint input screen is temporarily invisible when paying LG pay.

V40 ThinQ Performance Update

– PentaShot feature on the camera

– Parking assistant function and subway notification function in the context-aware setting

– Alarm / Clock app with alarm off function on holidays

G7 ThinQ Performance Update

– Pie OS upgrade planned

We assume that LG G7 thinQ users in other countries will get the Android Pie Update in Q2, 2019.  So far, LG has not announced the Android PIE Update plan for the LG V40 ThinQ.

According to our sources, LG is now testing the firmware for LM-G820N – which is the model number of the Upcoming LG G8.  The LG G8 will launch with Android PIE out of the BOX.
