LG G5 to receive Android Oreo Update soon

in News on - by LGfan

LG official released the Android 7.0 Update for the LG G5 in 2017. Now, it seems that LG will release the Android Oreo 8.0 Update for the LG 5 soon, at least for the South Korea version of the LG G5.

LG has posted Android Oreo kernel sources for the F700K, F700L, and F700S, which are Korean variants of the LG G5. It means that the LG will soon release the Oreo update for those devices.

For the G6, LG posted their sources  a month or a bit before the actual update. In fact, LG posted the source code for LG F700K/L/S on June 8th. Maybe there is the a mistake in the listings on LG open source code website, Because the current software version of the LG G5 F700L is F700L20R, it is based on Android N 7.0.  The Oreo Update for the F700L/K/S should be V30a.

The LG G5 with Android Oreo 8.0 was also spotted on Android Enterprise website. A listing on Android Enterprise Device Catalogue also confirmed that LG will release the Android 8.0 Update soon in not long future. Anyway, we still don’t have an ETA for the LG G5 Android Oreo release.
