LG Electronics has filed trademarks for the LPAD and WPAD names in the US.

According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) filings, The Lpad and Wpad names will be applied to devices described as “ Smart phones; Tablet computers”.

LG currently offers a range of Android tablets under the LG G Pad brand. The Wpad likely refers to Windows 8 tablets, while the Lpad would be another series of Android tablets.

After the success of LG G Pad 8.3, LG extended its G pad Linup with The G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1. LG might launch the above gadgets under different Brand. Maybe LG fans will see the tablets with 7.0 inch, 8.0 inch, 8.3 inch and 10.1 inch of screens with LG’s latest UX, Android 4.4.2 OS and upgraded hardware Specs in 2015.

However, Trademark filings don’t necessarily mean that the Wtab and Lpad are in the works. But LG could be aiming to upgrade the specs of the existing G pad lineup under different brand.
